The Annie Sloan sanding pads are ideal for keying spindle legs and dining chairs ready for painting , there very easy to wrap around without tearing , kind on your hands and don't seem to produce much dust. Apparently you can wash them under the tap and re-use them , "this is something I have not tried.

Pure is fab for creating a washed-out coastal timeless look , specifically for drift-wood pallets, reclaimed pine that kind of thing.
Its something I paint a lot of , and that is only going to increase .
Tip....Try and paint just out-side your comfort zone , do something slightly different every time you take on a object , you are then improving as a painter inch by inch .

Tip..... A starting point based on my own personal experience is that painting furniture varies on depending what's in front of you ! for example look at the picture of the spindle table legs that I am painting , you can see that the legs are like new , in very good condition. so no prep needed its straight forward two coats on , its a nice sunny day so the conditions are just about perfect let them dry in the sun , when dry bring them into the shade and a thin coat of Annie Sloan clear wax . "Happy days"
The pine bedside is tired, dated neglected piece in poor condition , so its best to clean it up a little before applying paint (no undercoat required ) its probably come out of a kitchen or bathroom its very greasy and oily so I use a Stanley blade and a bit of sand paper , (no need to get the varnish or stain off) its just the dirt and grease which takes about 10mins. and then your ready to go !

Honfleur works extremely well with all your blues , Louis , Greek and Duck egg , try it with Old ochre . "as a contrast !" paint it on in the sun if you can for texture.

I usually poor a bit at a time in to a little dish , I use a take away carton , rather than straight out the tin, Reason ? its very strong and can contaminate or discolour the remainder . Water based , quick drying so wash your brushes out with soapy hot water straight away after use , a good brush to apply is the small synthetic high quality smooth Annie Sloan flat brush , and large.
